Ingredients

  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • 50 ml vodka smooth and neutral
  • 100 ml ginger beer spicy and bubbly
  • 0.5 piece lime for juice and garnish
  • handful fresh cranberries for garnish
  • 1 sprig fresh mint for garnish

Equipment

  • Copper mug
  • Muddler or muddling spoon
  • Juice squeezer
  • Stirring spoon
  • Measuring jigger

Method

  1. Fill a copper mug with ice cubes, roughly to the top, creating a cold base for your cocktail.
  2. Pour in the vodka, measuring carefully with a jigger to ensure the right balance.
  3. Add the ginger beer to the mug, watching it fizz and bubble up over the ice, filling the mug with a spicy, golden glow.
  4. Squeeze the juice from half a lime directly into the mug, then drop the lime wedge in for extra brightness.
  5. Gently stir the mixture with a stirring spoon to combine all the flavors without losing the carbonation, allowing the deep red of the cranberries to swirl into the drink.
  6. Garnish the cocktail with a handful of fresh cranberries and a sprig of mint for a festive, aromatic finish.

Notes

For an extra festive touch, rim the mug with sugar or add a splash of cranberry juice for more tartness.
