Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats preferably old-fashioned
  • 1/2 cup milk dairy or plant-based
  • 2 tablespoons peanut butter smooth preferred
  • 1 large banana ripe, sliced

Equipment

  • Jar or container
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Spoon or stirrer

Method

  1. Add the oats to your jar or container, then pour the milk over them, ensuring they are fully submerged.
  2. Drop the peanut butter into the jar and stir well to combine, breaking up clumps and making the mixture creamy and smooth.
  3. Secure the lid and give the jar a gentle shake to evenly distribute the peanut butter throughout the oats and milk.
  4. Place the jar in the refrigerator and let it soak overnight or for at least 4 hours, until the oats are tender and have absorbed the flavors, and the mixture appears thick and creamy.
  5. Remove the jar from the fridge and peel the banana, slicing it into rounds. Top the soaked oats with the banana slices for added sweetness and texture.
  6. Give the oats a gentle stir to incorporate the banana slices or leave them on top for presentation, and enjoy directly from the jar or transfer to a bowl for serving.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a drizzle of honey or a sprinkle of cinnamon before serving.
