Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh green tea leaves or tea bags brewed and cooled
  • 4 ripe peaches pitted and sliced
  • to taste honey or sweetener optional, add for sweetness
  • ice cubes ice for serving

Equipment

  • Kettle or pot for boiling water
  • Pitcher or large jar
  • Strainer
  • Glass or serving cups

Method

  1. Begin by brewing the green tea: bring water to a boil, then pour over the tea leaves or bags in a pitcher. Steep for about 3-4 minutes until the tea turns a vibrant green, then remove the tea leaves or bags and let it cool to room temperature.
  2. While the tea cools, slice the peaches into thin wedges, revealing the juicy, orange flesh inside. Place the sliced peaches into a large bowl or directly into your serving pitcher.
  3. Pour the cooled tea over the peaches, allowing their sweet aroma to mingle with the grassy scent of the brew. Stir gently to combine.
  4. If desired, add honey or your preferred sweetener into the mixture, stirring until it dissolves fully and the taste feels balanced and lightly sweetened.
  5. Transfer the pitcher to the refrigerator and chill for at least 10-15 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld and the drink to cool thoroughly.
  6. Fill glasses with ice cubes, then pour the chilled peach tea over the ice, ensuring each glass has plenty of fruity slices and fresh flavor.
  7. Garnish with additional peach slices or a sprig of fresh mint if desired, then serve immediately for a refreshing summer drink.

Notes

For a stronger peach flavor, mash some peach slices and add during brewing or infusion. Adjust the sweetness to your preference.
