Ingredients

  • 1 pack pizza dough store-bought or homemade
  • 1/2 cup spicy pepperoni slices preferably thinly sliced
  • 1 cup burrata cheese fresh and at room temperature
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for brushing crust
  • to taste salt for seasoning if needed

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking sheet or pizza stone
  • Rolling pin
  • Pizza cutter or sharp knife
  • Cooking Brush

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a baking sheet or pizza stone inside to heat up. Lightly flour your work surface and gently stretch or roll out your pizza dough into a 12-inch circle, aiming for an even thickness.
  2. Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a piece of parchment paper or a floured baking sheet. Use a brush to lightly coat the edges of the crust with olive oil; this helps it crisp up and develop a golden color during baking.
  3. Spread the spicy pepperoni slices evenly over the surface of the dough, leaving about an inch border around the edges. Arrange them so they slightly overlap for maximum flavor and visual appeal.
  4. Carefully slide the pizza (on the parchment) onto the preheated baking sheet or pizza stone. Bake in the hot oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and crispy around the edges, and the pepperoni begins to bubble and crisp.
  5. Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven and immediately dot generous chunks of burrata cheese across the hot toppings. The heat will cause the cheese to soften and melt slightly, creating a creamy, luxurious layer.
  6. Allow the pizza to rest for a minute or two so the cheese can settle and meld with the crispy crust. Slice with a sharp pizza cutter or knife into wedges or squares.
  7. Serve the pizza hot, with the crispy crust, bubbly pepperoni, and melty burrata visibly contrasting in texture and appearance. Enjoy the delightful combination of smoky, spicy, and creamy flavors in every bite.
