Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries hulled and sliced
  • 1 shot espresso prepared hot
  • 1 cup milk whole or preferred kind, steamed and frothy
  • 1 teaspoon honey optional, adds sweetness

Equipment

  • Muddler
  • Frothing pitcher or small saucepan
  • Espresso machine or coffee maker
  • Coffee mug

Method

  1. Place the sliced strawberries in a small bowl or directly in your mug and gently muddle them with a muddler or the back of a spoon until they release their juices and become a vibrant mash.
  2. Pour the hot espresso over the muddled strawberries, allowing the aroma of the berries to mingle with the rich coffee.
  3. Steam the milk until it’s hot and frothy, creating a velvety foam that will top your latte.
  4. If desired, stir in honey to the milk while steaming for a touch of sweetness.
  5. Pour the steamed milk slowly into the mug over the strawberry and espresso mixture, holding back the foam initially, then spooning the frothy layer on top.
  6. Gently spoon the frothy milk to create a smooth, pink-tinted top, allowing the vibrant strawberry mash to show through a bit at the surface.
