Method
- Chop the watermelon into chunks using a sharp knife on a cutting board, making the pieces small enough to blend easily.
- Add the watermelon chunks to a blender, then pour in the cold water.
- Blend the mixture on high speed until smooth and slightly frothy, about 30 seconds. You should see a vibrant pink liquid with some pulp floating around.
- Pour the blended liquid through a fine mesh strainer into a pitcher, pressing gently to extract as much liquid as possible while leaving behind pulp and solids.
- Add the lime juice and a pinch of salt to the strained liquid, stirring well to combine everything evenly.
- Chill the Agua Fresca in the refrigerator for at least 15 minutes, or serve immediately over ice for an extra cold refreshment.
Notes
For a sweeter drink, adjust by adding a teaspoon of honey or agave syrup before blending.
